Each October, we hunt down the spookiest, scariest furnace lurking in homes across our community and replace it with comfort, safety, and peace of mind. Over the past several years, our Scary Furnace Giveaway has become a beloved tradition, providing vital home heating support during the chill of winter to a deserving household.

The Scary Furnace Giveaway began in 2022 with a simple mission: bring warmth, safety, and peace of mind to a family or individual facing the long winter with a failing or unsafe heating system. Since then, the giveaway has become an annual highlight for our team and community.

Each year’s story reminds us that a warm home is more than just comfort—it’s safety, peaceful rest, and hope. As we continue this tradition, we’re proud to see the Scary Furnace Giveaway become a lasting way to give back and keep our community strong.

Meet Last Year’s Furnace Giveaway Winner

Felicia Foster’s family endured long, cold months after their 20-year-old furnace failed. Space heaters became a risky necessity, leaving sleepless nights and worry behind every flicker of heat. With sleepless prayers and a mounting fear of fire, they were nominated—and Vailes stepped in.

Their home was transformed with a reliable, safe, and efficient Trane gas furnace and new thermostat, installed by the compassionate Vailes team. Their joy inspires us—and underlines why we keep giving back.

“I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Vailes for donating a brand new furnace to me and my family. Words could never express how truly grateful we are. When I bought this house in 2020, my greatest fear was that if the heating system stopped working, how would I ever afford a new system? Two years after buying our home, the 20-year-old furnace stopped working, and we were without heat for a few very long months. We used space heaters to heat our house. This was very dangerous, which led to a lot of sleepless nights for me, as I was so afraid we would have a house fire. Vailes has lifted a huge burden from my shoulders. If so, now is your chance to help banish those furnace frights!

This October, Vailes is proud to host the Annual Scary Furnace Giveaway, where we replace one terrifyingly unreliable furnace with a brand-new, safe, and efficient heating system—just in time to keep a local family warm for the winter. It’s our way of turning spooky situations into stories of comfort and relief.

How to Enter

To enter:

1. Click the “Enter Now” button.
2. Fill out the nomination form with your name, phone number, email, approximate system age, furnace location in the house, a brief description of why they would like to win a new furnace, and most importantly a picture of your frightful furnace.
3. Submit your nomination. Our team reviews all submissions and will reach out to the chosen giveaway winner.
4. Visit our Facebook and “like” the Vailes Professional Remodeling, Plumbing, Heating & Air Facebook Page.
5. Nominations are open 12:00 AM October 1. Voting begins 17 through October 30. Don’t wait! Help create a safer, warmer home this season.
